Objective(s)
At the end of this lesson, the students are expected to :
·         Identify drafting materials and tools/drawing instruments applicable to a specific job.
·         Perform the right procedure of manipulating t-square.
·         Know the proper procedure in Requesting, receiving and inspecting drafting materials and tools/drawing instruments.
·         Familiarized with the various forms in requesting, receiving and inspecting drafting materials and tools/drawing instruments.

Materials / Resources
  • Visual aids
  • Drafting materials and tools (drawing papers, drawing pencil, mask tape, eraser, triangular scales, erasing shields)
  • Drawing instruments (T-square, triangle, compass, divider, protractor)
  • Pencil and glass (for the motivation)
  • Chalk
  • Chalk board
Students' Preparation
Students will provide their own drawing paper and pencil.
Note: Provide several extra drawing paper and pencil for students who forget to bring their calculators or students who cannot afford them.
Teacher Preparation
Need some training on drafting use (i.e., conferences, night workshops, classes, etc.)
Activities
Learners' Activities
  1. Answering the pre-test
  2. For the first activity, the students will find the names of the different drafting materials and tools/drawing equipment in “a word hunt puzzle”. They are going to explain or to demonstrate the uses of the tool that they have found.  Their answer will be based upon their prior knowledge.
  3. For the second activity, the class will be divided into five (5) groups.  Each group is going to draw their dream house with the used of the different drafting materials and tools/ drawing instruments.  Present it in front of the class.
  4. For the third activity, the five (5) groups will present samples of various forms in requesting, receiving, and inspecting drafting material and tools/drawing instruments.
Teacher Activities
  • Give instructions to the students regarding the activities that will be given.
  • Introduce the different drafting materials and tools/ drawing instruments
  • Demonstrate the proper manipulation of T-square
  • Help students who have questions.
  • Ask questions to check students' status.
